Financial Literacy Month
April is Financial Literacy Month, but any time is a good time to Get Money Smart.
This year, we hosted the 2026 Financial Literacy Student Seminar under the theme “Finance Forward: Smart Money Moves Start Now”.
Designed especially for high school students, the seminar created a dynamic space for young people to learn about managing money and making smart financial decisions early. Students explored topics such as the role of the Central Bank, counterfeit detection, SandDollar, digital safety, credit scores, consumer protection, insurance, investing in private and Government issued securities and entrepreneurship.
At a household level, financial literacy can help individuals and families better manage expenses, prepare for emergencies, use credit wisely, and build healthy financial habits over time.
At a national level, financial literacy is a key driver of economic development. A financially literate population is often better equipped to confidently participate in the formal financial system – contributing to stronger financial inclusion and a more resilient economy.
